to Heeley City Farm or at the Energy Centre.
Why should I make a donation to the Energy Centre?
For over 7 years we have been giving advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable building. However, despite government rhetoric about climate change there is little or no money for organisations such as ourselves providing essential grass-roots advice and support.
The government provides grants for renewable energy, but no sources of detailed advice and support. We provide the level of information required, but receive nothing whatsoever from central government in return, and the majority of what little local government cash we receive comes from contracts for small building works, not as direct support for our advice work.
Although the refurbishment of the Energy Centre was made possible by the very generous support of Yorkshire Forward, Sheffield City Council and Yorkshire Water, we receive no revenue support from them towards salaries and ongoing costs.

Employ our Services
- Engage us as consultants for your sustainable building and renewable energy projects or information needs.
- Engage us as contractors for your Green Building projects.
- Commission a report on Energy Efficiency.
- Hire our venue.
Spread the Word
- Ask local building-related firms with whom you have links to support our work with a donation. In return we will exhibit advertising material at the Centre. (Please note we value very highly our 'honest broker' status, and will always suggest a range of installers, and will not recommend a firm simply because they have provided support to us.)
- Lobby your councillor or MP. Ask how they feel about our work. Invite them to visit us. Ask why organisations such as SYEC receive no central support.
